Hello there!

We are a photography and design studio in the heart of Häme region, Finland. My name is Katja Rinkinen and I mainly work at our old railway station house here in Parola, Hattula. The station offers a unique backdrop to my photography and abundance of inspiration.

After my studies in design at Wetterhoff and meeting my spouse, finding our historic home brought us a whole new way of living as well as a new mentality. The atmosphere in the surroundings of the old station inspired me to start event planning for our noted vintage summer flea markets and Christmas fairs that we hosted for almost a decade.

I’ve worked as a freelance photographer for interior and craft magazines for over 15 years and with a heritage restoration brand Domus Classica for over a decade. The diverse work has taught me firsthand the power of visual storytelling. Setting the mood, creating compositions and a focus to details are the ingredients for capturing a brand’s story and engaging the viewer. My specialities include versatile DIY features in vintage style with design and reuse in mind. Besides photography and social media work, my focus is currently in product design for our Savea clay paint brand and Parolan asema decor products.

Outside of my passion for photography and design is the love for old buildings and their thoughtful renovation. If we are not at our 1oo year old station house or the garden, me and my husband can be found at our old bank building from the 1930s that is our newest family addition. Our beloved two dogs and one very orange cat keep us busy as well as bring us just the right amount of fluff to our daily lives.

Olemme valokuvaus- ja muotoilustudio Hämeen sydämessä, Hattulassa. Nimeni on Katja Rinkinen ja työskentelen pääasiassa meidän kotonamme vanhalla Parolan rautatieasemalla. Asema tarjoaa loputtomasti inspiraatiota ja juuri oikeanlaisen ympäristön valokuvaustyölleni.

Opiskeltuani muotoilua Wetterhoffilla ja tavattuani puolisoni, historiallisen kotimme löytyminen toi meille aivan uudenlaisen elämäntavan – ja ajattelutavan. Vanhan aseman tunnelma innoitti minut järjestämään myös tapahtumia, tunnettuja Parolan aseman Joulumarkkinoita sekä Rompetoria, joita pidimme lähes vuosikymmenen ajan.

Olen työskennellyt sisustus- ja askartelulehtien freelance-valokuvaajana yli 15 vuoden ajan sekä erilaisen rautakaupan, Domus Classican kanssa jo yli vuosikymmenen. Monipuolinen työ on opettanut minulle visuaalisen tarinankerronnan voiman. Tunnelman luominen, sommittelu ja erityisesti yksityiskohtien huomioiminen ovat avaintekijöitä brändin tarinan vangitsemisessa. Erityisosaamistani ovat monipuoliset vintage-henkiset DIY-sisällöt, joissa kiertotalous ja muotoilu ovat tärkeänä osana. Valokuvauksen ja sosiaalisen mediatyön lisäksi keskityn tällä hetkellä Savea savimaaliemme ja Parolan aseman sisustustuotteiden tuotesuunnitteluun.

Työni lisäksi sydäntäni lähellä ovat vanhat rakennukset ja niiden harkittu kunnostus. Jos emme ole satavuotiaalla asemallamme, minut ja mieheni löytää todennäköisesti 1930-luvun vanhalta pankkitalolta, joka on uusin perheemme lisäys. Rakkaat kaksi koiraamme ja yksi hyvin oranssi kissa pitävät meidät kiireisinä ja tuovat arkeemme juuri sopivasti pehmeyttä.
